New York State has passed new
regulations regarding the Personal Water Craft that are so popular on
the lake now. NO children under the age of 14
may drive a PWC in New York State without a responsible adult actually
on the boat, even if they have taken and passed the training course.

The Copake Lake Conservation
Society is holding our Open Meeting for 2009 at the Copake Town Hall on
July 11th, 2009. at 9:30AM.
We have combined this meeting with our Annual Open House. Please spread
the word to friends and neighbors, including those who are not yet
members.
Our Open House, in addition to providing coffee and goodies, will
provide valuable information on the care and maintenance of your
property and the care and maintenance of the lake. Experts will be able
to help with weed identification and prevention, without the use of
pesticides and fertilizers.
We can offer suggestions as to land and water use and protection, and
provide an opportunity to ask questions about appropriate plantings and
care of lakeside property. All your questions will be answered and you
will also have an opportunity to get shirts, hats and other items to
help support the lake.
Our Annual Meeting scheduled to begin at 10AM, gives both financial
information and more technical data about lake conditions.
We are extremely proud of the condition of the lake and grateful to our
many members who work so hard to keep it this way.
Hope to see you all there.
